Concepts and Definitions

The core building blocks of Datagrid: Agents, Datasets, and Pages.

Agent

An Agent in Datagrid is an AI-powered entity designed to perform tasks for people. Key characteristics of agents include:

  • Ability to plan tasks before execution
  • Use of knowledge bases and tools to accomplish goals
  • Capability to iterate on plans with human feedback
  • Performing actions on a schedule or upon request
  • Collaborating with other agents and delegating tasks

Agents are designed to automate work by leveraging AI, knowledge, and various tools to assist users in completing tasks efficiently.

Dataset

A Dataset is a collection of one or more tables in Datagrid. It represents data that has been replicated from a source (like a pipeline) and potentially transformed. Users can view, manipulate, and enhance data within datasets to help agents perform better. Datasets can be accessed by agents to provide helpful responses to data-related requests.

Page

A Page is a blank canvas in Datagrid where users can display and present their data along with other content. It allows users to add various elements such as:

  • Text and images
  • Links to other pages and agents
  • Tables and charts (read-only representations of data stored in datasets)

Pages serve as a way to organize and present the data and agents built in Datagrid, either for personal use or for sharing with others.
